Stop it Hollywood. Please for all that is holy and pure; do not continue to make unnecessary sequels or prequels to silly movies. Honestly, Hollywood allows Child’s Play 2, Troll 2, Rush Hour 2 and even a Rush Hour 3 to be made, but they do not have quality prequel / sequel to movies that matter. Does Hollywood make these subpar prequel / sequels just to line their pockets with money from the idiots who watch that tripe? What about those of us out there who aren’t mouth breathers? What about us? There are three movies that Hollywood needs to consider having a sequel / prequel. These movies are: A sequel to “The Return of the Jedi”, a prequel to The Lord of the Rings franchise, and a prequel to the James Bond movie franchise.
Okay, first things first: George Lucas needs to make a sequel to the “Return of the Jedi”. He will need to make it so it will not suck as much as the three prequels. No Jar Jar Binks, no silly pod races that last a half an hour, and no crying Darth Vader. PLEASE. I myself, and countless others did not care about the ending to Return of the Jedi. You mean to tell me that their galaxy is safe all thanks to a bunch of Muppets? Remember at the end of the film where the primitive ewoks obliterate the Imperial ground troops on Endor? How is that possible? Make another sequel, Mr. Lucas and explain your rationale of thinking.
The next on my list is to have a prequel to The Lord of the Rings movies. I’ve heard that they will be making “The Hobbit,” and they next day I hear that they won’t. I don’t care. Make a prequel that takes place before that. Describe how the races got along while the one ring was being manufactured. Have a movie about how the Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits and Humans came to be. Do that and keep us entertained, and you will have a great prequel on your hands.
The third movie on my list is to have a prequel to the James Bond movies. Yes, the James Bond movie franchise has been going on for the past 40 years, and they have been keeping us entertained, but what about going back to the beginning? Have a story about how James Bond became a “00” agent. Show him before and after his training. James Bond movie fan’s will not be disappointed.
So by having a sequel to “The Return of the Jedi,” a prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and a prequel to the James Bond movie franchise, will certainly pique the movie going interests. Go back to the basics, Hollywood, and tell stories. Don’t churn out non essential movie prequel / sequels like High School Musical 2 to make a quick buck. There are those of us out there who enjoy movies and who do not like to watch the crap that passes for movies nowadays. If this keeps up Hollywood, how soon would you come out with a prequel to High School Musical: Junior High Musical? Spare us.
